Quinntarah Maxwell, LMHC

Psychotherapist

She / Her

Quinntarah Maxwell is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and psychedelic-assisted therapy practitioner whose work sits at the intersection of psychotherapy, authenticity, and whole-person care. With extensive experience in trauma-informed mental health care and more than 300 hours of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) experience, Quinntarah brings clinical skill, curiosity, and a grounded presence to psychedelic work.

‍

Quinntarah believes meaningful healing requires more than symptom reduction. It can involve examining the stories, relationships, systems, and expectations that have shaped how we understand ourselves. Her approach is collaborative and culturally responsive, creating space for clients to explore difficult truths without shame or judgment. Rooted in her Gullah Geechee lineage and identity as a Native Brooklynite, Quinntarah brings cultural awareness and deep respect for the complexity of each person’s story. Her goal is not to define who you should become, but to help you create enough space to discover it for yourself.

‍

In psychedelic-assisted therapy, Quinntarah emphasizes thoughtful preparation, intentional therapeutic support during the experience, and meaningful integration afterward. She works collaboratively with medical and wellness providers to ensure that psychological, physical, and emotional considerations are held together rather than treated in isolation. Her work is informed by a commitment to liberation, pleasure, resilience, and personal agency. Quinntarah will meet you with compassion, but she won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. She believes therapy should be a place where clients can be challenged with care, encouraged to take responsibility for their choices, and supported in becoming more fully themselves.

Being Health Questions

Therapy functions as a collaborative partnership where I bring psychological expertise, while you remain the definitive authority on your lived experience.

My practice is deeply grounded in supporting individuals from the global majority alongside individuals navigating complex, systemic environments.

I hold this practice with immense reverence, honoring that individuals seek my support during some of their most tender and vulnerable moments.

What resonates deeply about Being Health’s integrated approach is how individual wellness translates into collective care—honoring the belief that just as it requires a community to nurture a child, it demands a compassionate village to sustain a flourishing adult.

I find immense nourishment in the natural world—whether tending to my garden, resting in a park, sitting beside a flowing stream, or standing on a mountainside. Grounding myself outdoors is a vital practice for my well-being.
