She/Her
We often move through life so quickly or under so much stress that we lose touch with our emotions, desires, and natural capacity for healing. As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Sultan aims to provide a space where you can slow down and fully arrive in the moment together with compassionate attention. All parts of you will be welcomed within a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space. Working with Dr. Sultan is a collaborative process where you will draw from various modalities– psychodynamic, somatic, experiential, and mindfulness based.
Dr. Sultan believes that healing lies in moving beyond the mind into the wisdom of the body and spirit. She is trained in Somatic Experiencing and Hakomi therapy, which focus on regulating the nervous system and befriending the body. Dr. Sultan is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master practitioner, and loves to incorporate movement, breathwork, and meditation into her work.

Being Health Questions
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am passionate about approaching therapy from a holistic perspective. In both my personal and professional experience, I’ve seen that healing lies in moving beyond the mind into the wisdom of the body and the spirit. I’m trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Hakomi therapy, which focus on regulating and befriending the body. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master practitioner. If it is of interest, we may incorporate movement, breathwork, and meditation into our work together.
Do you have experience in working with any specific types of patients?
I have a strong interest in working with people who would like to explore the connection between their body and mind, and have a desire for increased holistic well-being. I also have over ten years of experience working with Veterans, addressing issues such as readjusting to civilian life and processing combat trauma.
What do you find most interesting about Being Health's integrated care model?
Offering various healing modalities within one space allows us to really tailor treatment to each unique individual. It’s so valuable that someone can access the services that would be specifically beneficial for them–from therapy to acupuncture to nutrition–all within the same clinic, and have providers who will collaborate and discuss their care. As a clinician, I’m excited by the opportunity to learn about my patient’s mind-body-spirit makeup from within these different disciplines, to understand how that is contributing to their mental health, and to weave in these discoveries to support our therapeutic work together.
What's the most memorable trip you've ever taken?
My most memorable trip was an eco-friendly safari in Tanzania. I got to explore the vast terrain, while getting a glimpse into the daily lives of extraordinary creatures in their natural habitat. It was amazing to witness the lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elk, wildebeests and more roam, climb, hunt, and socialize. How powerful to remember that this was their domain and I was just a visitor! Often when I feel closed in by the day-to-day travails of life I think of that expansive landscape and the lifeforce of the animal kingdom and it broadens my sense of perspective, and connection to the world around me.
